FAQ

Does it cost me anything to be in the PTA?
No.  While some PTA's charge a membership fee, we've chosen not to.  We want everyone to feel welcome.

If I come to a meeting, will someone ask me to volunteer? No.  We may talk to the group about the need for volunteers but we will not ask anyone who does not offer.

Can my kids come to the meetings?
Yes.  We have childcare available for children in the gym.  They can run and play under the supervision of childcare givers, while you attend the meeting.

How can I find out more about the PTA without attending meetings?
We have an email group that you can subscribe to.  Each month, this group receives emails containing things like meeting minutes, calls for volunteers, and previews of flyers that will go home.  You won't receive daily or even weekly emails.  No one has time for that.  Most months, you will only receive 1-2 emails per month.

You can also:

  • subscribe to this blog (see left side of screen)
  • watch for the monthly PTA newsletter in The Scoop
  • subscribe to our email blast list (just put the word "subscribe" in the subject line and include your phone number if you'd like to receive texts)
  • "like us" on Facebook

Why Do You Have Fundraisers? Our school district is able to fund a lot of great things for our school, but there are gaps they can't fill.  As a PTA, we cannot fund salaries or curriculum.  However, we can fund things like field trip assistance, technology, classroom supplies, etc.  We also offer grants to teachers who are in need of special things.
